A journal for the modern gentleman, som de själva uttrycker det. Brittisk tidning för gentlemän som förstår tjusningen hos tweed, en rak pipa och en välskött mustasch. En publikation med en stor dos (torr) humor.

Having featured everything from ponies to motor cars, beatniks and Brian Blesseds on our covers, it was finally time to feature a feline, which we did principally to celebrate the life of that fabulous fifties icon Eartha Kitt, whose life has just been chronicled in a superb new biography.

Elsewhere, we have packed the following voluminous features into the December/January edition: An overview of overcoats by the new head cutter at Douglas Hayward, William Smith, plus a profile of that venerable 1960s tailor to James Bond and Thomas Crown, among many others. We also investigate the curious case of the missing Sherlock Holmes overcoat in the latest incarnation of the private sleuth. Steve Pittard goes to the other side of the law to look at that top fictional cricketer, A.J. Raffles. We examine the tragic decline of Cluedo, whose new version has stripped Colonel Mustard not only of his rank but, worse still, his moustache. The Bon Vivant celebrates the resurrection of Mexico's finest export, Mezcal, while our grooming expert praises his much-awaited top five shaving soaps and creams. Our teenage dandy Zack Pinsent advises on capes, cloaks and coats, while Atters visits the dark lair of retro ladies man and vintage impresario, Peter Stringfellow.

Also in this packed edition: How to buy a vintage wristwatch; weird moustaches in The Lip Weasel; Tom Cutler on being louche; Mr. Bell the Butler on black tie, long hair and infant chaps; Mr. B the Gentleman Rhymer's new long player and a new restored release of The Wicker Man.
